A few years ago I fell in love in Zakopane. I love this city, mountains and climate. I would like to show you 7 of the best tourist attractions in Zakopane.
1. Gubałówka
Gubałówka (1123 m asl) is the most popular part of the Gubałowski Strip. On the peak many attractions are waiting for everyone, above all the stretching wonderful panorama of the Tatra mountains, and the Pieniny Mountains. In addition to a beautiful view, there are also a lot of restaurant, traditional shops, children’s playground and gravitational slide. If you want to relax, you can also take a rest on the beach with a beautiful view of the mountains.
2. Kasprowy Mount
Is a mountain in the Western Tatras. The most popular ski mountain in Poland, with a height of 1987 meters above sea level. The mountain delineated the border between Poland and Slovakia. Its peak is accessible by cable car. The cable car trip to Mount Kasprowy takes about 15 minutes and takes place in two stages.
3. Morskie Oko
Morskie Oko is probably the most beautiful of the Tatra lakes, and it is certainly the largest. It covers about 35 hectares in all, stretching some 860 metres in length, and 566 in breadth. The lake is entered through a small pass, and once inside, you are entirely surrounded by the mountains. Morskie Oko has delighted travellers since the region was first discovered one hundred and fifty years ago, and it remains amongst the most popular places to visit in the Tatras.

This main street of the town is lined with wooden Zakopane-style restaurants, cafes, art galleries and gift shops. At the lower end of the street, there are little stalls offering local handicrafts like wooden boxes, woollen sweaters, hats and gloves, special Zakopane-style leather shoes. There are also many shops whit traditional cheese- Oscypek, you must try it!
5. Museum of Zakopane Style
Housed in the Willa Koliba, this was the first of several grand wooden villas designed by the famous Polish painter and architect Stanisław Witkiewicz in his ‘Zakopane Style’. The interior has been restored to its original state, complete with highlander ferniture and textiles, all designed for the villa.

6. Giewont
Giewont is the peak in the Western Tatras, 1894 m high. The Giewont massif consists of three parts - Grand Giewont (1894 m above sea level), Small Giewont (1728 m above sea level) and Long Giewont (1876 m above sea level). The total length of all three elements is 2.7 km. Giewont is very visible from Zakopane. There is a legend about a sleeping knight who will rise when Poland will be in danger.
7. Wielka Krokiew
Wielka Krokiew- the largest ski jump in Poland with a height 1378 (asl) . Polish people love ski jumping and during the competition Zakopane is visited by thousands of fans.

1. Zakopane is the highest city in Poland. The highest point is located at 2301m
2. Zakopane competed in the competition for organizer of the Olympic Games in 2006.
3. At the end of the 19th century, the city was inhabited by many well-known artists such as: Henryk Sienkiewicz, Stefan Żeromski, Stanisław Witkiewicz and Jan Kasprowicz.
